Bio-Performances with Traffic Cameras



"Developing Gödel´s ideas in the streets of Köln as a 3-dimensional grid x-y-z coordinates and biological-no-sense actions-experiments.
Key-words: Looking for consistency. Arithmetic operations, mathematical conventions. The Scene as a surveillance-digestive system. "



Phase1. Running-time: 3 months each year between 2001 and 2003 Location: Germany

Texts of the Original Project:

"I will feed different lots of californian worms (total 90 lots). with "Consistency of the axiom of choice and of the generalized continuum hypothesis with the axioms of set theory" (1940) from the mathemathician Goedel printed all the text in only one page, (size 238mm x 286mm, and 60 grams-paper)

The californian worms will be feeded with this paper and kept in recipients, outdoors, for a period of 3 months before the extraction of a sample of DNA of the worms. *

*(For the first bio-performance on-line I have used no worms but a sample of DNA of a wistar rat. The animal was not mishandled.)




Gödel gave a formal demonstration of the inadequacy of formal demonstrations and he said: "I don't believe in natural science. The development of mathematics towards greater precision has led, as is well known, to the formalization of large tracts of it, so that one can prove any theorem using nothing but a few mechanical rules."

Lot#33 :
It will be feed with the article "Continuum Hypothesis ":
"The Continuum hypothesis states that there is no no set whose cardinality lies between that of the Natural numbers and that of the Reals.
The Generalised Continuum hypothesis states that if A is any set, there is no set whose cardinality lies between the cardinality of A and the cardinality of the set of all subsets of A. The Continuum hypothesis has been shown to be independent of the other set-theory axioms."



Lot#71 :
Axiom 2: If P is positive and P entails Q, then Q is positive.
Axiom 3: If P1, P2, P3, ..., Pn are positive properties, then the property (P1 AND P2 AND P3 ... AND Pn) is positive as well.
Axiom 4: If P is a property, then either P or its negation is positive, but not both.
Finally, we assume:
Axiom 5: Necessary existence is a positive property (Pos(NE)). This mirrors the key assumption in Anselm's argument"... etc



Lot#83 :
" A formula of PM with just one free variable, and that of the type of the natural numbers (class of classes), we shall designate a class-sign. We think of the class-signs as being somehow arranged in a series,11 and denote the n-th one by R(n); and we note that the concept "class-sign" as well as the ordering relation R are definable in the system PM"...etc.




I will take some dead worms -as sample-witness- from different lots and I will scan them in high resolution(1800dpi).

Then with a domestic-method I will extract DNA from the worms. I will use detergent, enzymes and alcohol (95% isopropyl)
I will blend the mixing and pour it in a cup, then add detergent and enzymes
The result is a genomic DNA(the entire collection of DNA from each cell)

I will have the result in a tube.



Gödel said: "..a consistency proof for [any] system ... can be carried out only by means of modes of inference that are not formalized in the system ... itself."


I will drop the DNA of the worms in front of the 14 on-line traffic-cameras meanwhile I will be reading Gödel-texts and a friend of mine will collect the on-line images

I will use GPS technology to trace my performatic-actions
